John Lawrence Shatas, of Meriden, passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2023.

John was born on April 22, 1944, to the late Vincent W. Shatas Sr. and the late Julia T. (Hepda) Shatas. John was a lifelong Meriden resident.

John was predeceased by his wife Mary (Hampp) Shatas. He is survived by his sons John M. (Rose), Rick (Jen), Doug (Sharon) and Lance (Jennifer); and grandchildren Samantha, Rachel, Lilly, Tessa, Zoe and Carter Shatas.  John is also survived by his brother Thomas Edward Shatas; three sisters-in-law, Mandy Hampp (Rob), Peggy Hampp (Tom) and Justine Frazier (Clyde); a brother-in-law Thomas P. DeFilippo (Connie); and several nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his brothers Eddie, Vinnie (Joann) and his nephew Tim Shatas; brothers-in-law; and sister-in-law William Hampp, Rosemary DeFilippo and Thomas R. Hampp.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside funeral service, Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 11 am in St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Meriden.  There will be no calling hours.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Meriden Memorial Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden, Ct. 06450.
