Obituary

John V. Marotta, 67, died unexpectedly on Monday March 7, 2016 at MidState Medical Center. He was the husband of Nancy (Butler) Marotta, his beloved wife of 25 years and father of Joshua T. Marotta of Hamden.

Born on August 7, 1948 in Pelham, NY, John was the son of Rose (Lopardi) Marotta and the late Bonifacio P. Marotta. He lived in Milford, CT during his teenage years. John was a graduate of Thomas College in Maine. He was a longtime resident of Meriden and was employed as an Education Specialist for Hitachi Data Systems for 16 years. John was a member of First Church of Christ, Scientist in Middletown. He enjoyed starting his day with laughter by watching the TV show, the Honeymooners. John also enjoyed listening to the music of Led Zeppelin. John was a loving husband, father, son, brother and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Mr. Marotta is also survived by his brother Vincent (Marlene) Marotta of PA; a sister Lori (Mark) Guerrera of Monroe; many nieces, nephews and wonderful neighbors and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff including all the doctors, nurses, aides and everyone who came into John's room at MidState Medical Center, for treating him with such great compassion and excellent care.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday evening March 11th from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and attend his funeral service on Saturday morning March 12th at 10:00 a.m. in the Stempien Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden.
