Johann Helen Nowicky Tino, 80, of Meriden, died peacefully in her home on Saturday, June 22, 2024.

She is survived by her two sons, Michael Tino of Meriden and Christopher Tino of Middlefield, her sister Valerie Favereaux of Ormond Beach, FL her sister Jacqueline Nowicky of Southington; several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, John & Viola Nowicky of Meriden and her brother John Nowicky of Southington.

Johann was a lifelong resident of Meriden and a parishioner at St. Stanislaus/ St. Faustina Church. She graduated from Platt High School in 1962 then married Francis Tino of Meriden in 1964. In 1979, she worked at Card Gallery in the Meriden Square, but soon after began a career in banking that lasted over 20 years, working for Jefferson Federal Savings, CBT, and Castle Bank until her retirement in 2006. Johann then worked part time at the Meriden Stop & Shop and was a favorite of patrons for 11 years.

Johann was a devoted mother, a lifelong Boston Red Sox fan, a lover of Rock & Roll music and a caretaker to her dog, Charlie. Being with her children and her family made her the happiest. She touched the lives of everyone who knew her and will be missed by all.

Johann's family will receive relatives and friends in the Meriden Memorial Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Monday, July 1, 2024, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.  On Tuesday, July 2, a prayer service will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m.  Flowers are welcome or a donation in memory of Johann may be made to the Meriden Humane Society, 311 Murdock Ave., Meriden, CT. 06450.
