Jeanette (Jeannie) Olson Sweeney 81, of Meriden passed away on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 after a long fought battle with cancer. She was born in Boston, MA on June 11, 1937, the only daughter of the late Edwin and Helen (Zaborowski) Olson.
After she graduated from Meriden High School, she married her best friend Wayne, she worked and raised her family in Meriden. Due to her husband's career, for many years Jeannie lived in New Jersey. She retired to Florida and made many friends while working at the Church of the Resurrection.
In 2003, after the passing of her loving husband of 45 years, she returned to Meriden. She reconnected with her parish family and spent time with her many friends at St. Stanislaus Parish (St. Faustina), working with the ladies in the office and as a Sunshine Club Member.
Jeannie was a very religious woman. She was a loving and genuinely caring person who always had a kind word. If you were lucky enough to see Jeannie at the store, Dr.'s office or church you would be met with a bright smile and a "God Bless You". She wrote beautiful poetry and was very proud to have been published in Daybreak On The Land, The National Library of Poetry.
