Janet Cerbie died on Sunday June 9, 2013 after a long battle with multiple sclerosis. A loving mother and grandmother, Janet was very active in the Meriden community for many years, serving with the Board of Directors of the Girls Club, Miller Memorial Community and the Board of Trustees of Center Congregational Church. Janet's passion was music. As a teenager she was the recipient of the New Jersey Griffith Music Foundation, Highest Honors Award. Janet was a soloist at many churches throughout Connecticut and the associate organist at Center Congregational Church for many years. She was also a soloist with the WELI radio chorus in Hamden where she recorded several commercials for them. She is survived by her sons: Marc Cerbie and his wife Barbara of Meriden, Steven Cerbie and his wife Elizabeth of Middletown; her daughter Suzanne Cerbie of Centreville, VA and two granddaughters Amy and Megan Cerbie of Meriden.
