Irene Mary Lugli, passed away on June 8, 2015 six days short of her 90th birthday. She was the wife of the late D. John Lugli her loving husband of 63 years. Born on June 14, 1925 in Hartford Hospital, she was the daughter of the late Felix and Julia (Donegan) Barry. Irene was a graduate of New Britain High School. She was employed at Fafnir Bearing in New Britain from where she retired after over 30 years of service. Irene was an avid walker and travelled up to 10 miles daily. She especially enjoyed walking by the ocean in Old Saybrook where she lived. Irene was a parishioner of St. John's Church in Old Saybrook. She and her husband performed for six years with the Sassy Seniors, a musical touring group. Mrs. Lugli is survived by her beloved son John W. Lugli and his wife Sheila of Meriden; two grandsons John D. Lugli and his wife Catherine and Scott C. Lugli all of Meriden; two great granddaughters: Halley Lugli and Emmalyn Lugli; two brothers: Robert and Raymond Kroll and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Monday Morning June 15th from 9:00 a.m. 10:30 a.m. and attend her funeral service at 10:30 a.m. at the Smith-Ruzzo Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden.
