Irene K. Gutman, 88, widow of Raymond A. Gutman, passed away peacefully on Friday March 16, 2012 at the MidState Medical Center in Meriden, CT. Born in Meriden, June 7, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Victoria (Pysyk) Kosienski. One of 13 children, she attended St. Stanislaus Parochial School, Meriden and the Meriden High School where she graduated from with High Honors. She was employed by the New Departure Division of General Motors, and was an active member of the United Auto Workers (U.A.W.) Union. Irene retired after 46 years of dedicated service. She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church and member of The Holy Rosary Society. Irene is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Miralda Gutman of Southington, CT; one brother, Retired Chief of Police Robert E. Kosienski of Meriden, CT; two grandchildren and their spouses, Marnie and Kevin Walton of Manchester and Brandon and Kerween Gutman of Weston, CT; three great grandchildren: Sean, Lillian and Brandon; her goddaughter Patricia Kryst of Southington, CT and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 6 brothers: Thaddeus Kosienski, Joseph Kosienski, Stanley Kosienski, John Kosienski, Walter Kosienski and Leonard Kosienski and five sisters: Grace Mary Gonglewski, Nellie Piontek, Sophie Krystofalski, Mildred Szymaszek and Bernadette Patla. Irene loved her family and her little Shih Tzu, Alfie. She was an avid member of Curves Fitness for women in Meriden and the perfect homemaker. Irene was a wonderful woman who will be missed by those whose lives she touched forever.
