Ines P. Sokol, 94, beloved wife of the late Stanley T. Sokol, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at MidState Medical Center.
Born on July 27, 1924 in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Attillio and Gina (Tanganelli) Parroni. Ines grew up in NYC where she attended local schools. Ines was a longtime resident of Meriden and devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. She worked for AMF Cuno from where she retired. Ines was a member of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Society, the Red Hat Society and the Senior Center. She enjoyed baking, painting, knitting, crocheting and especially playing cards with her family and friends. A loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Ines will be greatly missed.
Mrs. Sokol is survived by her daughter Gina Drury and her husband James of Wallingford, three cherished grandchildren: Michelle Blouin and her husband Alain, Danielle Gagliardi and her husband Tim, Joseph Drury; her great granddaughter Amelia Rose Blouin; special niece Jean Greenberg and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Elda Greenberg.
Her funeral will be held on Friday February 8 th at 9:15 a.m. from the Stempien Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden when the funeral cortege will proceed to Our Lady Queen of Angels, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Campus, 109 Goodwill Ave, Meriden for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Thursday evening February 7th from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Stempien Funeral Home.
