Imogene Martha Barbetta, 94, of Portland, beloved wife of the late Vincent Salvatore Barbetta, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, on June 30, 2026.

Born in Biggers, Arkansas, on December 6, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Susan (Reisenhover) Gould. Imogene was employed by International Silver Company and Napier Jewelry in Meriden for many years.

Imogene enjoyed camping with her husband at Charleston Breachway in Rhode Island, hosting family holiday gatherings, and was an avid bingo player. She cherished the time she spent with her family and created many lasting memories for those she loved.

She is survived by her children, Madeline Rivera of Portland, Tina West and her husband, Robert, of Chester, Barbara Wright of Portland, Bonnie Mesquita and her husband, Jorge, of Wallingford, Vincent Barbetta and his wife, Gina, of Wallingford, Charles Barbetta and his wife, Tina, of West Palm Beach, and Martha Fairbanks and her husband, Douglas, of Thomaston. She also leaves her cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Vincent Salvatore Barbetta, she was predeceased by her brothers, Ernest, Billy, Thomas, and Bobby Gould, and her sisters, Geneva Stacschke, Hettie Sholler, and Juanita Karsmarski.

Her family is deeply grateful that she was able to spend her remaining years in the comfort of her home and pass peacefully, thanks to the loving and exceptional care provided by her devoted daughter, Barbara.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. She will be laid to rest at Connecticut State Veterans’ Cemetery in Middletown, where she will rest peacefully beside her husband.
