Obituary

Ida Santoni, beloved wife of the late Vittorio Santoni passed away on Monday January 9, 2023 at Hartford Hospital.

Born on January 2, 1934 in Mezzolombardo, Trentino, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Ottovio and Rosa Moresco. Ida moved to America within six months of meeting the love of her life, husband Vittorio. She was an independent, courageous and strong-willed individual who was determined to embrace her American culture while staying true to her Italian heritage. Ida worked as a skilled seamstress for various businesses for many years and was a member of the St. Stanislaus Ladies Guild. She was a real people person, everyone who met her just loved her warmth and kindness. Most important to her was spending time with her family. A loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Ida will be greatly missed.

Mrs. Santoni is survived by her children: Louise LaButis and her husband Tom, Patti Bushey and her husband Mark, George Santoni and his wife Maura; her son-in-law David Ferrone; a sister, Lucia Lui; nine cherished grandchildren: Alyssa, Kevin, Katharine, Danielle, Steven, Erica, Zachary, Nathaniel, Jacob; two great grandchildren: Ryder and Charlotte and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Aggie Ferrone and five brothers and two sisters.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday evening, January 13 th from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and Saturday morning, January 14th from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at the Meriden Memorial Funeral Home, 450 Broad St. On Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. the funeral cortege will process from the funeral home to St. Stanislaus Church for her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
