Helen A. Budnick, known as "Babci" to everyone, 96, passed away very peacefully on Thursday October 11, 2012 at the Miller Memorial Community. She was the beloved wife of the late Andrew R. Budnick. Born August 31, 1916 in New Britain, CT she was the daughter of the late Jan and Anna (Sapula) Partyka. Helen and Andrew were married in 1939. They moved to Meriden a year later. A long time resident of Meriden, Helen was employed in the Silver Plating Department at International Silver Co. She was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church, a member of the St. Stanislaus Ladies Guild, St. Theresa Society and for many years she was a dedicated pierogi maker for the St. Stan's June Fest. Helen enjoyed fishing, boating, camping, crocheting, cooking for her family and in the fall, canning. Her greatest love was her family. She especially treasured their vacations together. Helen is survived by her daughters: Elizabeth McGrath of Meriden and MaryAnn Simmons and her husband Edward of Meriden; two grandchildren: Roxanne Simmons of Meriden, Matthew Simmons and his wife Elizabeth of Plantsville and her sister-in-law Julia Mansolf of Meriden. She was predeceased by her five brothers and one sister. Mrs. Budnick's family extends a special thank you to Dr. David Taraskevich, Mary Rogalski, the staff at Miller Memorial Community and the Franciscan Hospice Care for the loving care given to her.
