Gordon H. Lovely, 86, of Meriden, passed away peacefully, Sunday January 19, 2025 at Water's Edge in Middletown. He was the loving husband of the late Barbara (Grodzicki) Lovely, who he lovingly took great care of due to the effects of MS until she predeceased him.

Gordon was born in New Brunswick, Canada, April 26, 1938, a son of the late Albert Lovely and Ann Marie Michaud and had been a Meriden resident for many years. He was employed as a produce manager for the former Barker's Grocery Store and Stop & Shop until his retirement. Gordon was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church and will be remembered for his love of family and the outdoors.

He is survived by his beloved daughter Laurie Vereneau and her husband Greg; his two cherished grandchildren who were his greatest joy Alyssa Vereneau and Jason Vereneau; his son John Lovely of Arizona and his sister Carole Smith and her husband Gregg; many nieces; and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Kevin, Joseph and William. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

Gordon's family will receive relatives and friends at the Meriden Memorial Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Friday, January 24, 2025, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., followed by an 11 a.m. funeral service. Interment will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Meriden. Memorial donations can be made in Gordon's name to St. Faustina Parish, 82 Akron St., Meriden, CT. 06450.
