Obituary

Gordon Hunting Sr., beloved husband of Lyn Hunting, passed away, Thursday, September 14, 2023 after a long illness.

Born in Chicopee, Mass., Gordon later moved to Meriden after he married Lyn.  He was the son of the late Clarice Hunting Fournier and stepson of the late Arthur Fournier.

Gordon was enrolled in a four-year apprenticeship sponsored by Pratt & Whitney and became a tool and Die Maker for many years. He also worked for Bridgeport Textron as a CNC salesman.  Gordon was an amazing "Mr. Fix it" man and enjoyed fixing computers.  He was an avid golfer and spent many weekends at Hunters Golf Course.  He also enjoyed playing poker at the casinos, where he and Lyn would visit often.

Besides his wife Lyn, he is survived by two sons Gordon Jr. (Kim) and Eric (Jennifer), whom he adored; four grandchildren Ashley Hunting Bergeron (Brandon), Kyle Hunting, Katherine Hunting and Michael Hunting; three great grandchildren Hunter, Hannah and  Hudson Bergeron; his sister-in-law Lucille Paluszewski; his nephew Leon Paluszewski; niece Elizabeth (Tom) Lavalette; and grandniece Lexa Paluszewski.

Special thanks to his caregiver Tom, to whom we are forever grateful for his dedicated care.

Gordon will be greatly missed by his family.  His family meant the world to him.  According to Gordon's wishes, there were no public calling hours.  Burial was private.  Arrangements were entrusted to the Meriden Memorial Funeral Home, 450 Broad St.  For online condolences visit: www.meridenmemorialfh.com
