Gertrude M. Papallo, 85, beloved wife of the late Ralph Papallo died peacefully on Sunday June 16, 2013 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. Born on May 5, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Victoria (Knap) Mordarski. A lifelong resident of Meriden, Gertrude graduated Meriden High School and the St. Francis School of Nursing, Class of 1949. She was employed by the Bradley Home as their Charge Nurse from where she retired after many years of service. Gertrude was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church and a member of their Holy Rosary Society. A loving Mother, Grandmother, Sister and friend she will be greatly missed. Mrs. Papallo is survived by her three sons: David Papallo and his wife Deborah of Middlefield, Jeffrey Papallo of Newington, Kevin Papallo of Meriden; her daughter Maureen Papallo of Meriden; her sister Ann Tall of Meriden; three grandchildren: Leslie Glazewski of Wallingford, Matthew Papallo of Meriden, Carissa Sfakios of Newington; two great granddaughters: Callie Glazewski and Penelope Papallo and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four brothers: Walter, Joseph, Martin and Francis Mordarski and her sister Rita Mordarski.
