Gertrude "Trudy" Roman O'Donnell, 90, of Meriden passed away on Dec 10, 2014 at the Alzheimer's Resource Center of Connecticut in Plantsville. Trudy was born in Rockville CT on January 5, 1924 to the late Frank and Aniela Zuraw. She is survived by her son Edward and his wife Kathy of Wallingford, her daughter Margaret Ragozzino and her husband John of Cheshire and her son Daniel and his wife Debra of Meriden. She also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, her sister-in-law Jo Geremia and her husband Mickey of Wallingford, many nieces and nephews and a good friend Leona Jurgot of Meriden. Trudy was predeceased by her husband of 34 years, Chester Roman. Together through their hard work and long hours they built the Roman Oil Company into a business that earned the respect of customers and the entire community, all while raising a loving family. Their family was her life. Her joy was living every moment to the fullest with them. Trudy's grandchildren brought her a whole new chapter of happiness. "Baci" was a special friend to each and every one of them, she relished in the simple things that were so important to them. Her grandchildren will forever hold dear memories of sleepovers, building sand castles, making apple pies and baking "Baczi Bread". She was also pre-deceased by the second love of her life, James O'Donnell, to whom she was truly blessed to have married to for 11 years. Together they enjoyed UCONN girl's basketball games, good friends and each other. The family would like to thank the entire staff at the Alzheimer's Resource Center of CT whose care and compassion gave Mom the dignity, love and respect that she deserved.
