George A. Ackerbloom Sr., 81, beloved husband of the late Jean M. (Pavlowski) Ackerbloom, beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away on Monday February 6, 2012 at MidState Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Born on September 24, 1930 he was the son of the late Signey Johnson-Hurbon and her husband George and the adoptive son of the late George Ackerbloom. George proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was employed as a machinist for Mastercraft Tool & Die in Southington from where he retired after many years of service. George enjoyed basketball and was an avid Red Sox fan. Mr. Ackerbloom is survived by his children: Michael Ackerbloom, George Ackerbloom Jr., Rickey Ackerbloom and his husband Czar Baranowski, Mary Jean Pardo, Denise Russell and her husband Wesley all of Meriden, his adopted son David Loomis and his wife Holly; four brothers: Richard Hurbon, David Hurbon, Franklin Hurbon, Joseph Hurbon; three sisters: Elizabeth Hurbon and her husband John, Cheryl Hurbon-Jurwitze, Janis Hurbon-Walker; nine grandchildren: Corey Manuel Pardo, Shevon Pardo, Dana Pardo, Justin Crum, Jasmine Mandelas, R.J. Russell, Jessica Ackerbloom, Catherine and Taylor Loomis and several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother Peter Hurbon.
