Florence C. Wallace, 91, beloved wife of the late Gerald E. Wallace passed away peacefully, on Friday July 5, 2019 at her home.
Born on April 6, 1928, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Mesite) Pipicelli. A lifelong resident of Meriden, Florence was a graduate of Meriden High School and parishioner of St. Joseph Church. She worked as a Para Professional in the Meriden School system for many years from where she retired. Florence was a member of the Meriden Council of Catholic Women. She enjoyed gardening, music and entertaining family and friends. Florence always had company at her home, they enjoyed her cooking, especially her sausage and meatball grinders and delicious sweet creations. She really looked forward to and loved spending her summers in Maine visiting her family. Florence will always be remembered as an extremely helping, nurturing and caring individual. A loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, she will be greatly missed.
Mrs. Wallace is survived by her son Dennis Wallace and his wife Rebecca of Longs, SC; her daughter Cheryl Bannan of Meriden; four grandchildren: Ryan Wallace and his wife Amanda, Matthew Wallace, Jason Mitchell, Cristina St. Pierre; eight great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two sons-in-law: James Bannan and James Mitchell and her brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
The family wishes to thank the Franciscan Home and Hospice Care, the staff at Right at Home, her caregivers: Lynda, Janice, Mary, Karen, Jeriann, her nurses Brenda and Amy and everyone else for their help and support in caring for Florence.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Tuesday July 16 th from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. and attend her funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at the Stempien Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden.
