Obituary

Florence (Gansecki) Sieracki, 99, a lifelong resident of Meriden and parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church, passed away on November 11, 2018 in Dover, NH where she lived her last years with her daughter.

Florence was a lovely, kind, accepting and generous human being. She was a devout Catholic who opened her heart and mind to recognize the goodness in people of all persuasions. Her pleasures in life were simple. She loved her friends and family; she enjoyed a good meal; she was a champion Scrabble and Boggle player; and she gardened virtually to the end. Florence was deeply loved by many and her departure leaves a wound that can only be healed by keeping her spirit alive.

Florence is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Rosalie Gansecki; her daughter, Alice Gansecki Meattey; her grandson, Gregory Gansecki; granddaughters; Cheryl and Karyn Gansecki and their respective husbands and daughters, Ken, Emma, and Mara Hon, Marcello, Sofia, and Lyla Damasceno; her step-grandsons, Mark, Todd, and Scott Serencha and his wife and daughter, Allyse and Lillian Serencha; and a close family of nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her two sisters and three brothers, two loving husbands, Benjamin Gansecki and Joseph Sieracki, and her much loved stepdaughter, Justine (Nina) Serencha, and stepson, Leonard Sieracki.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday December 1st at 10:00 a.m. from the Stempien Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden when the funeral cortege will proceed to St. Stanislaus Church for a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Saturday morning December 1st from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at the Stempien Funeral Home.
