Ferenc "Frank" Osvald, 79, beloved husband of the late Carolyn (Schreier) Osvald died peacefully on Friday November 20, 2015 surrounded by his family at his home in Durham.
Born January 2, 1936, in Szentgál, Hungary, he was the son of the late Gábor Osváth and Maria ( Németh ) Osváth. A longtime resident of Durham, Ferenc worked at Wallace Silver Smith for over 25 years and then retired from the Town of Wallingford Public Works. A loving father and grandfather he will be greatly missed.
Ferenc is survived by his children Alexander R. Osvald and his wife Linda of Durham, Ferenc C. Osvald and his wife Deborah of Wolcott, Susan Osvald-Cross and her husband Jeff of Aubrey, TX; three grandchildren: Carolyn, Zachary, Ayden and a sister-in-law Wilma Osvald of Szentgál, Hungary. He was predeceased by his brother Gábor Osváth.
His funeral service will be held on Wednesday November 25, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the Stempien Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden, CT. Burial will follow in West Cemetery, Cromwell CT. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Tuesday evening November 24th from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Stempien Funeral Home.
