Obituary

Esther Martinez a 78 year old loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She passed away May 5, 2020 at the Hospital of Central CT, in New Britain. Born on April 7th, 1942 in San Juan, PR. She was the daughter of the late Pastor Jose and Cruz Martinez. A sister of eight siblings. She was a mother of four; Luis, Jeanette, Elisa and Elias and predeceased by: Rachel, José, Vicky, Israel and Samuel Martínez, grandkids, nieces and nephews.

She was a devoted lover of God, who followed her fathers path, she faithfully prayed day and night for her family. She also loved to sing "coritos". Aside from her faith, her family was the center of her life. She always put her family first, making sure that we were happy before herself. Esther was a longtime resident of Meriden. Later moved into Autumn Lake Rehab Center where she spent the rest of her days. Even with all she went through, she was still loving as always. Whenever we would visit her, her face would light up and she would greet us with the biggest smile and hug. She also loved to receive the visit of her sisters and brothers from out of town.

Every time it was anyone's birthday she would sing to them on the phone, it was the only thing she could do, but it was her best. Her favorite hobby was to go with her son to the mall and buy all of us a gift. We always did the best we could to make sure she always felt happy and loved. We would buy her all her favorite things: she loved warm cozy blankets, she loved collecting mugs and loved chocolate mints, but most of all she loved spending time with her family. We would bring her home every holiday so she could eat delicious food, and bake her something homemade that she loved. We are so grateful we had you in our lives, now she has gone home where she will be happy for ever more. YOU WILL BE GREATLY MISSED BUT WE WILL SEE YOU AGAIN...
