Elizabeth Fontanella, 83, died on Monday August 20, 2012 at MidState Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Guido Fontanella, her loving husband of 48 years. Born in Waterbury on April 26, 1929 she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Emily (Carlson) Lundin. Elizabeth was a long time resident of Meriden and was very proud of her city. She was an avid reader and Bridge player. Elizabeth enjoyed playing Tennis and watching the Masters, and going to the theater in New York and the Goodspeed Opera House. Her greatest joy was her love for her family and their vacations together in Provincetown. Elizabeth is survived by her three daughters: Janice Martha Fontanella and her partner Michael Marimpietri of New York, Ann Fontanella and her husband Timothy Foley of MA and Nancy Fontanella and her husband Steven Thomashow of MA; her sister Martha Fordiani and her husband Alfred of Branford; her sister-in-law Helen Fontanella; three grandchildren Emma Foley, Matthew Foley and Jesse Foley; many cousins, nieces and nephews; her faithful cat of 17 years Pyewacket.
