Eleanor B. (Szawerda) Ritz, born on February 22, 1918, a lifelong resident of Meriden, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2017. Nora has always been proud to have been predeceased by her husband Edward F. Ritz of Yalesville, parents Joseph Szawerda and Katy Pisark, her late son Gary Ritz of Meriden and brother Joseph Szawerda of Meriden.

Nora worked at the Bradley Home for 10 years. Then went on to the Yankee Silversmith where she stayed for 35 years and by far enjoyed the time, experiences, memories and lifelong friendships made there. Nora made an impact on everyone she encountered. She loved the beach, soaking up the sun and spending time with her family vacationing by the water in Clinton.

She is survived by her daughter Jill Ritz of New Bern, NC; brother Henry Szawerda of Yalesville; three grandchildren: Jodi Ritz of Meriden, Cody Delmonico of Trumbull, Matthew Ritz of Bristol; daughter-in-law Debra Ritz of Meriden; three nieces: Susan Daniels of Meriden, Donna Brownell of CA, Cheryl Weston of Meriden and her nephew Pancho Cugno of Meriden.
