Edith Arlene (Sackey) Wieloch, beloved wife of the late David Wieloch, passed away Tuesday April 5, 2016.
Born on May 19, 1923 in Meriden, she was the daughter of the late James and Emma (Pioda) Sackey. A lifelong resident of Meriden, Edith attended local schools and was a parishioner of St. Joseph Church. She proudly served in the United States Navy Waves during WII and the Korean Conflict. Edith was employed as a dietary aide for the Bradly home from where she retired. A loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother she will be greatly missed.
Mrs. Wieloch is survived by her three children: Michael Wieloch, Helen Goulet and her husband Phil, Heidi Trautman; three grandchildren: David Vega and his partner Candice Kowalski, Desiree Vega and her husband Jeremy, Emmalee Trautman; five great grandchildren: Harrison and Evan Vega, Cheyenne and Audrey Vega, Scarlett Rose Oliveras and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Vincent Sackey and three sisters: Adelaide (Sr. Mary Nerita) Sackey, Angie Sackey and Irene (Sackey) Traceski.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday April 8th 2016 from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. and attend her funeral service at 1:30 p.m. in the Smith-Ruzzo Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden.
