Dorothy J. Kasey, 92, beloved wife of the late John A. Kasey, passed away on Saturday March 5, 2016 at Masonicare.
Born on January 20, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Stasia (Staniszewski) Kenny. A lifelong resident of Meriden Dorothy attended local schools and was a parishioner of Holy Angels Church. She worked for New Departure and the Napier Company. Dorothy was a dedicated member of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians where she served as State past President, local President and county President. She was as a Brownie and Girl Scout leader and also enjoyed teaching CCD. Dorothy liked to cook and bake, she was known for making the best apple pie. Most of all Dorothy loved spending time with and caring for her family. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother she will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her two daughters: Terry Grabiec and her husband Andrew of Cheshire, Kathy Kasey of So. Meriden; two cherished grandchildren: Darin Cessario, Andrew Grabiec III and his wife Jackie; seven cherished great grandchildren: Joseph Grabiec, Dylan Cessario, Emily Cessario, Blake Cessario, Tyler Cessario, Jenna Ann Grabiec and Jake John Grabiec and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her granddaughter Johna Grabiec; a granddaughter Ellen Elkins and her sister Phyllis Perillo.
The family would like to thank the staff at Masonicare for the excellent and compassionate care given to Mrs. Kasey.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday March 10, 2016 at 9:15 a.m. from the Stempien Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden when the funeral cortege will proceed to Holy Angels Church for a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Wednesday evening from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Stempien Funeral Home.
