Dorothy (Boziuk) Jurek, 92, of Meriden, passed away at the Regency House in Wallingford on Thursday November 2, 2017.

Dorothy was born September 25, 1925 in Meriden, CT to the late Joseph and Rose (Skiba) Boziuk. She was a lifelong resident of Meriden, with her sister Stasia and brothers Steve and Joseph. In October of 1949, Dorothy married her love, Walter Jurek, her beloved husband of 44 years.  Dorothy was employed by CT Telephone in Meriden, but truly in her heart, she was a homemaker, enjoying every member of her family.   She was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church. Dorothy was also quite proud of her Polish heritage. You would always find her listening to the Polish radio station every Sunday. Throughout her life, she always enjoyed and loved the color purple, from her clothing to her decorations. Purple made her happy.

Mrs. Dorothy Jurek is survived by her daughter Nancy Kiel of Wallingford; her son Timothy Jurek (Martha) of FL;  her grandchildren: Jennifer Graham of East Hartford, Adrienne Kiel (Michael Shashok) of Essex, Rebecca Beas of Northampton, MA, Meredith Gervais (Jeffrey) of Wallingford and David Jurek of Meriden. She is also survived by the ones who brought a huge smile to her face, her greatest joys, her great grandchildren: Joshua, Elliott, Hettie and Archer. Dorothy was predeceased by her infant son, Michael; her husband Walter; and son Martin.

Dorothy's family would like to thank everyone at the Regency House in Wallingford for their love and care throughout Dorothy's stay there.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday November 8th at 10:00 a.m. from the Stempien Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden when the funeral cortege will proceed to St. Stanislaus Church for a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Wednesday morning November 8th from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at the Stempien Funeral Home.
