Dorothy Pepin Fornal, age 87, of Meriden, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2025, at Elim Park Health & Nursing Care.

Born on May 30, 1938, she was the youngest daughter of the late Joseph and Bertha (Pare) Pepin. Dorothy was a lifelong resident of Meriden and attended local schools throughout her childhood and adolescence.  She was employed as an Industrial Packaging Specialist, dedicating many years to her work before retiring in 2015.

Dorothy was an avid reader who found joy and relaxation in a good book. She deeply valued time spent with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and cherished family gatherings. Dorothy held fond memories of summer trips to the beach with her sister, Lorraine, which brought her much happiness throughout her life.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Catherine (John) Abercrombie, and her four sons: Robert "Butch" Fornal (Crystal), Mark Fornal (Anne), Michael Fornal (Heidi), and Joseph Fornal (Tigger). She leaves behind sixteen grandchildren: Nicholas, Sean, Jeremy, Jason, James, Kyle, Madison, Allie, Kaleigh, Kevin, Sidney, Eric, Kolby, Laird, Reagan, and Quinn, as well as eleven great-grandchildren: Mackenzie, Gavin, Dallas, Emercyn, Charlotte, Parker, Avery, Lienna, Euan, Mia, and Mila. In addition, Dorothy is survived by close friends Marilyn Miller and June Barbuto, along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her grandson Ryan, her brother Raymond Pepin, and her four sisters: Rose Horosieski, Bertha Carbone, Jean Martin, and Lorraine D'Amico.

Dorothy's family will receive friends and relatives at Meriden Memorial Funeral Home, 450 Broad Street, on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM. A funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 PM.
