David I. Kapuscinski, 74, of Maryland, loving husband of Kathleen (Newton) Kapuscinski, passed away peacefully, Monday, September 7, 2026.

David was born in Meriden, January 2, 1952, a son of the late Edmund Kapuscinski and Josephine (Slavich) Kapuscinski. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy and enjoyed a successful career with the U.S. Government until his retirement.

In addition to his wife, Kathleen, David leaves to cherish his memory his daughter Kelly O’Donnell and her husband Kevin, of Germany; and their children Aidan, Audrey, Adelaide and Alec; his son Kevin Kapuscinski and his wife Love, of Japan; and their daughters Kirsten, Kaitlyn, Kelsey, Kimberly and Kayleigh. He is also survived by his sister Carol King; his uncle Donald Slavich; several nieces; and nephews.

David’s family will receive relatives and friends at the Meriden Memorial Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Thursday, September 17, 2026, from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Church, 82 Akron St., Meriden. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, friends and family are asked to make donations in David’s name to the Sisters of Mount Carmel (Carmel of Port Tobacco, 5678 Mount Carmel Road, La Plata, MD 20646-3625) with checks payable to Discalced Carmelite Nuns of Maryland, or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142).
