David W. Hansen, 64, loving husband of Kathleen Ann (Nessing) Hansen, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at the Hospital of Central CT. in New Britain.
David was born in Meriden, November 29, 1957, a son of the late Aksel Hansen and Anne (Griffin) Hansen and had been a lifelong Meriden resident. He was currently employed with the Meriden Board of Education in the Maintenance Dept., and was a longtime employee of Kogut Florist and Nurserymen and Hemlock Hill Christmas Tree Farm for 34 years. David was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church (St. Faustina Parish). He will be remembered as a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many, who always put his family first.
In addition to his wife Kathleen, he is survived by his son Matthew Hansen and his wife Brittany; his daughter Michelle Blackall and her husband Kevin; his precious grandson Declan Hansen; and a future granddaughter baby Blackall, expected in April, 2022; his sister Laura Behling and her husband Scott; his brother Peter Hansen and his wife Denise; his brother-in-law John Peter Nessing and his wife Maryann; several nieces; and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Linda Hansen; and his in-laws John and Florence Nessing.
David's family will receive relatives and friends at the Meriden Memorial Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden, Wednesday, December 29, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, December 30 th at 11:30 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Church in Meriden. Interment will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Contributions in memory of David may be sent to the Meriden Humane Society, 311 Murdock Ave, Meriden, CT. 06450.
