Daniel J. Sorensen, 77, loving husband of Christine Trzcinski Sorensen, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at Masonicare Health Center, surrounded by his devoted family.

Daniel was born in Meriden, August 7, 1947, a son of the late Daniel A. Sorensen and Angela (Vinci) Sorensen and had been a lifelong Meriden resident.  Daniel was employed by the State of Connecticut, Department of Social Services until his retirement and was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church.

In addition to his wife Christine, he is survived by his three children, Christopher Sorensen, Joseph Sorensen and his wife Laura, and Matthew Sorensen; three cherished grandchildren Kira, Jackson and Logan; his brother Robert Sorensen and his wife Carol; his sister Jilda Sorensen and her husband Alain Gagne; his sister-in-law Georgia Sorensen; many nieces; and nephews.  He was predeceased by his brother Richard Sorensen.

Daniel's family will receive relatives and friends at the Meriden Memorial Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Sunday, December 15, 2024, from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m.  Funeral services will be held Monday, December 16, from the Meriden Memorial Funeral Home at 9 a.m., when the funeral procession will proceed to Our Lady Queen of Angels Parish, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Meriden, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m.  Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to: Masonic Charity Foundation/ Quality of Life Fund P.O.
