Obituary

PLEASE NOTE DONATION ADDRESS CORRECTION - THANK YOU American Diabetes Association, 2080 Silas Dean Hwy., 2nd Floor, Rocky Hill, CT 06067. Daniel Marcinczyk, 70, beloved husband of Patricia (Mlynick) Marcinczyk for the past 41 years, died early Sunday morning at the Gaylord Hospital, Wallingford, after a lengthy illness. Dan was born February 24, 1943 in New Britain, CT son of the late Stanley and Helen (Gorski) Marcinczyk. He resided in Bristol with his family and graduated from Goodwin Technical School in New Britain and began working as a draftsman. Dan moved to Meriden in 1972 after his marriage to Pat. While working he took courses at Waterbury State Technical College. He earned his degree to become employed at AMF-CUNO in Meriden as a mechanical engineer where he worked for 40 years. Dan was a man of many talents. He particularly loved gardening, golfing, and woodworking. As an engineer he was proud of his work on a filter design which earned him a patent while employed at CUNO. Dan was a long-standing parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church and for many years he was an enthusiastic member of its Church choir. He was also a retreatant at the Holy Family Retreat Center on numerous occasions. Besides his wife Patricia, he is survived by his daughter Joanne of Stratford, who was "the apple of his eye". Whenever Joanne walked into the room, Dan glowed with pride. He is also survived by three brothers: John Marcinczyk and his wife Fran of Maine, Edward Marcinczyk of Burlington and Stanley Marcinczyk and his wife Sandra of Newington; two sisters: Diane Brown and her husband Carl of Manchester, Patricia Segill and her husband Paul of Easton, MA; a brother-in-law Robert Mlynick and his wife Alicia of Southington and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
