Corrine M. Ross, 61, passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2016, at Hartford Hospital. She was the wife of Robert L. Ross her loving husband of 34 years.

Born on March 26, 1955, in Tanjore Tamil Nadu, South India, Corrine was the daughter of Anna (Dumenil) James and the late Norman James. In 1982, she met her husband and relocated to Meriden. Corrine worked as an executive assistant to the director of the Meriden Health Department. She was a parishioner and dedicated volunteer at St. Joseph Church. Corrine also volunteered at Girls Inc. and assisted in running the Meriden Health Department booth at the Daffodil Festival. She enjoyed gardening, arts and crafts, and especially cooking her native Indian Cuisine. Indian scrambled eggs were her daughter's favorite, among many other specialties. Corrine was an avid reader and a lifetime learner with a special interest in medical topics. A cherished wife, mother and sister, Corrine will be greatly missed.

Mrs. Ross is survived by her beloved daughter, Heather Anne Ross, of Meriden and her partner, Brendan Stavris, of Wallingford; a brother, Dervin James and his wife, Sheena, of Hillsboro, Ore.; two sisters, Vilma Venkatesan and her husband, Ganesh, Anna James, all of Hillsboro, Ore.; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers; and her sister.

Her funeral will be held on Friday, Aug. 5, at 9:15 a.m. from the Stempien Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden when the funeral cortege will proceed to St. Joseph Church for a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Burial will be private. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday, Aug. 5, from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. at the Stempien Funeral Home.
