Obituary

Bruce E. Biondino, 64, passed away peacefully on Thursday May 24, 2012 at Miller Memorial Community. Born March 3, 1948 in Bridgeport, CT, he was the son of the late Charles and Isabelle (Dortensio) Biondino. Bruce grew up in Wallingford where he attended local schools and was a parishioner and lector at SS. Peter & Paul Church. He was employed as a Facilities Assigner for SNET from where he retired after many years of service. Bruce proudly served in the United States Marines during the Vietnam War and fought in the "Battle of Hue City" in 1968. He received three Purple Hearts, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnamese Service Medal with one star and the Vietnamese Campaign Medal with device. Bruce was a photographer for the Telephone Pioneers of America, an avid NY Yankee fan; he followed Indy Racing and collected antique Aladdin Lamps. Bruce was a gentle man who loved his family. Bruce is survived by the mother of his children Mary (Hall) Biondino; his son James E. Biondino; his daughter Jena Biondino all of Meriden; two sisters-in-law: Sharon Biondino of Wallingford, Paula Biondino of Meriden; his cousin and good friends Lynn and Mike Reynolds; two nephews: Robert Biondino, Esq. of CO, Giancarlo Biondino of Meriden, three nieces: Alysha Havrilla of CO, Marissa Biondino of Southington, Francesca Biondino of Meriden and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brothers: C. Robert Biondino, MD and Boyd Biondino. His family would like to thank the staff at Miller Memorial Community for the wonderful care given to Bruce.
