Boleslavs "Ben" Motivans, age 100, of Meriden, CT passed away on Dec. 17, 2020.

He was born on Oct. 2, 1920 in Kalupe, Latvia to a family of farmers.  Ben met his wife in post-WWII West Germany where he fathered his children. He emigrated to the United States in December 1953 and built a new life for his family through his hard work and many talents.  Ben was a longtime parishioner of St. Mary's Church in Meriden and retired from Ulbrich Steel in Wallingford. He spent his long retirement pursuing his favorite activities including woodworking, carpentry and gardening.

Ben leaves behind his devoted wife of 70 years Rita who still resides in Meriden; his two children Robert Motivans (wife Cheryl Bochet) of Trumbull, CT and Silvia Flynn (husband Thomas), formerly of Durham, CT and currently residing in Pawleys Island, SC.  He also leaves behind two grandsons, Tyler Flynn (wife Kerri) of Myrtle Beach, SC and LT Spencer Flynn, USN (wife Ainsley) of Norfolk, VA; two great grandchildren, and will sadly miss the arrival soon of a third.

Ben was a good man, a kind man and a hard worker who instilled proper values in his progeny.  In lieu of flowers or donations to a charity, we simply ask that you be kind to others and be truly grateful for the circle of love that you have from your friends and family.
