Bernard H. Kielbasinski, 88, beloved brother and uncle passed away on Friday November 6, 2015 at Gaylord Hospital. Born on February 24, 1927 he was the son of the late Karol and Valeria C. (Kniezinski) Kielbasinski. A lifelong resident of Meriden, Bernie attended local schools and was a graduate of Meriden High School Class of 1944. He proudly served in the United States Army during WWII. Bernie worked as a painter for Urbanski Brothers. He was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church. Bernie was a member of the American Legion Post 45, the Meriden Falcons and the PLAV. Recently Bernie was honored along with 5 other recipients for his dedicated service to our country at Monticello's by the American Legion Post 45. He also enjoyed cooking with the same meticulous style he approached his house painting. All in his family relied on his expertise in both areas. He took great pride and pleasure in creating delicious meals for family members. Bernie was a lifelong reader, reading the daily newspapers from cover to cover. He was an avid fisherman, a class A Duck Pin Bowler and played on several Championship Meriden Softball teams. Mr. Kielbasinski is survived by his brothers: David L Kiel and his wife Victoria of Kensington, Raymond R. Kielbasinski and his wife Mary of Meriden; a sister Corinne K. Brown and her husband James of Clinton and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great grandnieces and great grandnephews, and his very close companion, his dog , Rembrandt. He was predeceased by his brother John Kielbasinski and sister Natalie K. Poppel. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Tuesday November 10th from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. and attend his funeral service at 10:00 a.m. at the Stempien Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden.
