Benjamin P. Wiktor, 90, passed away on Wednesday March 14, 2018 at Apple Rehab Coccomo. He was the husband of Helen J. (Kizilski) Wiktor, his loving wife of 65 years.

Born on July 26, 1927, Ben was the son of the late Benjamin and Mary (Karona) Wiktor. A lifelong resident of Meriden, he was a graduate of St. Stanislaus School, Wilcox Technical School and a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church. Benjamin served in the United States Navy. He worked at Pratt & Whitney as a tool maker from where he retired after 25 years of service. Upon retirement Ben and his wife enjoyed travelling all over the country. He was an avid duck pin bowler and vegetable gardener. Most important to Ben was being with his family. He loved family picnics, birthday celebrations, holiday dinners and just getting together. Benjamin was always the life of the party. A loving husband, father and grandfather, he will be greatly missed.

Besides his beloved wife Helen, Mr. Wiktor is survived by two sons: Michael S. Wiktor and his wife Mary of Wethersfield, Thomas Wiktor of FL; his daughter Diane Gurtowski and her husband Robert Jr. of Meriden; three cherished grandchildren: Lorie Gurtowski, Robert Gurtowski, Justin Gurtowski and his great grandson Brennen Gurtowski.

His funeral will be held on Monday March 19th at 10:30 a.m. from the Stempien Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden when the funeral cortege will proceed to St. Stanislaus Church for a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Monday morning March 18th from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the Stempien Funeral Home.
