Obituary

Barbara P. Olschefski, 86, passed away peacefully on Monday October 8, 2018 at Apple Rehab Coccomo.

Born on June 9, 1932 in Meriden, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Viola (Bober) Olschefski. Barbara was educated at St. Stanislaus School, where she excelled in academics, basketball and softball. She later went on to play junior league softball and traveled around the United States with her junior bowling league. Barbara started her career at W.T. Grant where she moved up through the ranks in various positions for over twenty-six years. She spent her later career days with Prime Hospitality and stayed for over twenty-eight years finishing as a Senior Administrative Assistant to the Senior Vice President of Operations. She was valued by many for her precision in her work, attention to detail and accuracy.

A women of great faith, she was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church. Cioc' was an avid reader, UCONN Women's Basketball Fan, and beach goer. More than anything she loved spending time with her family.

Barbara was the proud aunt of Robert Galluzzo and his wife Karen of Meriden, Heidi Lusby and her husband Keith of Medfield, MA; she was the adoring great aunt of Michael and Krystina Galluzzo both of Meriden, Alex and Ben Lusby both of Medfield, MA and many who loved her dearly. She was predeceased by her beloved siblings: Valerie Galluzzo and her husband Salvatore, Alexander Olschefski Jr.; her nephew Timothy Olschefski and her sister- in- law Joan W Olschefski.

Her funeral will be held on Friday October 12th at 9:30 a.m. from the Stempien Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden when the funeral cortege will proceed to St. Stanislaus Church for a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday morning October 12th from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. at the Stempien Funeral Home.
