Arthur R. Tomassetti, 93, beloved husband of the late Rosemary (Mancini) Tomassetti died on Wednesday February 13, 2019 at Middlesex Hospital.

Born on May 26, 1925 he was the son of the late Louis, Sr. and Marietta (Scalzi) Tomassetti. A lifetime resident of Meriden, Arthur was a graduate of St. Rose School, Jefferson Jr. High School and Meriden High School, Class of 1943. He proudly served in the United States Navy during WWII from 1943 until 1946 in the Amphibious Force on the LST 210 in Italy and France. In 1946 Arthur and his brother Paul, took over Tomassetti's Market on Center St. which was owned by their father Louis, Sr. They continued to operate the Market until 1998 retiring after 50 years of service.

Mr. Tomassetti is survived by his daughters: Beth Tomassetti and her companion Jim Valenski, Laura Glasow and her husband Brian; two cherished granddaughters: Alyssa and Samantha Glasow and a niece Lois Tomassetti of FL. He was predeceased by three brothers: Louis, Jr., (Ruth), Joseph (Evelyn) and Paul (Cecile).

His funeral will be held on Monday February 18 ^th at 11:30 a.m. from the Smith-Ruzzo Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden when the funeral cortege will proceed to Our Lady Queen of Angels, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Campus, 109 Goodwill Ave, Meriden for a Mass of Christian Burial with Military Honors at 12:00 p.m. Burial will be at a later date in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Monday morning February 18th from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at the Smith-Ruzzo Funeral Home.
