Obituary

Antonia Palmieri, 93, beloved wife of the late Gennaro Palmieri passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022, at Apple Rehab Coccomo in Meriden.

Born on November 26, 1928 in Italy, she was the daughter of the late Giuseppe and Pasqualina Izzo. Antonia was a resident of Meriden since 1965. She was employed as an assembler for Eyelet Specialty Company from where she retired. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. A loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Antonia will be greatly missed.

Mrs. Palmieri is survived by her son Rocco Palmieri and his wife Marianna; her daughter Antonia Carusone, all of Meriden; two brothers: Antonio and Giovanni Izzo both of Italy; a sister-in-law Antoinette Izzo; five grandchildren: Thomas Carusone and his wife Renee, Jessica Rodriguez and her husband Tommy, Matthew Palmieri and his wife Sabina, Antonia Seward and her husband Jeff, Rocco Palmieri, Jr., three great grandchildren: Peter, Rebecca and Alyssa Carusone and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son-in-law Pietro Carusone; a brother Rinaldo Izzo and three sisters: Concetta Sabino and her husband Marcellino, Ersilia Palmieri and her husband Tomasso and Theresa Izzo and her husband Giacomo.

The family would like to thank the staff at Apple Rehab Coccomo, especially Rich and Debbie, for the excellent and compassionate care given to Antonia.

Her funeral will be held on Tuesday February 1 st at 10:30 a.m. from the Meriden Memorial Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden, when the funeral cortege will proceed to Our Lady Queen of Angels, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Campus, 109 Goodwill Ave., Meriden for a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Tuesday morning from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the Meriden Memorial Funeral Home.
