Anthony J. Zavaglia, 76, passed away on Wednesday July 10, 2019 at St. Francis Hospital.

Born on November 22, 1942 in Calabria, Italy, he was the son of the late Gaetano and Angelina (Pipicelli) Zavaglia. Anthony relocated to Connecticut when he was a young boy. He attended local schools and was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Anthony worked for Yale Steel. He enjoyed all kinds of music, taking long car trips, site seeing throughout the country and capturing many precious memories with his family. Anthony had a great sense of humor and could brighten anyone's day with a clever joke to make them laugh. He especially loved spending time with his family. Anthony will be greatly missed.

Mr. Zavaglia is survived by three sisters: Maria Zavaglia Ridente, Josephine Zavaglia Milardo, his caregivers and sister, Rosanna Zavaglia-Callipari and her husband Marlo; two brothers: John Salvatore Zavaglia, Gaetano Zavaglia; his two sisters-in-law; his beloved nieces and nephews who he loved dearly: Domenico Ridente, Rosina Ridente Evans, Vincenzo Ridente, Angela Zavaglia, Sophia Zavaglia, John Zavaglia, Jr., Gaetano Zavaglia, Jr., Joseph Callipari, Annamaria Callipari; nine great nieces and great nephews and his companion Olga Arroyo and her children and grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother Giuseppe Zavaglia.

Family and friends are invited to attend his graveside service at 9:30 a.m. on Monday July 15 ^th at the Sacred Heart Mausoleum.
