Anthony E. Day, Sr., 60, beloved husband of Josephine (Sgambelluri) Day died on Monday January 14, 2013 at MidState Medical Center. Born on March 21, 1952, he was the son of the late William and Ann (Monteleone) Day. A lifelong resident of Meriden, Anthony attended local schools and was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. He proudly served in the United States Air force during the Vietnam Conflict. Anthony was employed as an assembler for Radio Frequency Systems, Inc. in Meriden and was an avid Ham Radio and Shortwave Radio enthusiast. Anthony was a devoted advocate for the Lewis Ave. Neighborhood Association. He is survived by his son Anthony E. Day, Jr. and his fiancé Krissy Bourque of Southington; a brother William Day, Jr. and his wife Janet of Meriden; two sisters: Elizabeth Day-Summers of Meriden, Ann Carabetta and her husband Robert of Meriden; his grandson Anthony J. Day of Meriden and three nieces: Lori Carabetta, Stephanie Day and Rebecca Bard. He was predeceased by his nephew Robert Carabetta.
