Anthony (Tony) C. Daniels, 88, of Naples, FL, Westbrook and Meriden, CT passed away peacefully on January 5, 2017. He was the loving and devoted husband of 62 years to the late Joyce (Dioguardi) Daniels, who passed away in March 2016.
Tony was born October 5, 1928, to the late Lorenzo and Philomena Daniele and was one of four children. He was predeceased by his brother, the Reverend Michael Daniels, and is survived by his sisters, Anita Daniels and Anna Pisarski, of Meriden.
Tony attended St. Joseph School and graduated from Meriden High School. He went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge, he graduated from Bryant College with a BS in Accounting. Upon returning to Meriden, he worked at New Departure for 10 years. He concluded his career as owner of the Fierberg Company, a commercial mechanical contracting company in Hartford. He and Joyce moved to Naples, FL and summered every year in Westbrook.
Tony was the loving father to four children and their spouses, Louis and Amy Daniels of Canton, CT, Lisa and Joseph Finigan of Reading, MA, Lori and Steve Wonsor of Stockton, NJ and Lawrence and Jennifer Daniels of Naples, FL. He was also blessed with 12 wonderful grandchildren, Abby and TJ Woll, Anthony and Meridith Daniels, Molly and Patrick Tebecio, Sally Daniels, Katie and Tom Cooney, Kristin and Kelsey Finigan, Christopher and Jessica Wonsor, Alyssa Wonsor, Jamie, Jessica and Jordan Daniels. Tony also had four great grandchildren that kept him smiling whenever around, Pierce, Lilliana and Gabriella Tebecio and Tommy Woll.
There will be no calling hours. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Church in Meriden on Tuesday, January 10, 2017, at 11 AM. The family wishes to thank the nurses and wonderful staff of McLean Care of Simsbury CT. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Smith-Ruzzo Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden, CT.
