Alton J. Hepp, 91, loving husband of Alice (Banaszewski) Hepp, passed away peacefully, Monday, February 14, 2022 at Hartford Hospital.
Alton was born in Meriden, July 15, 1930, a son of the late John Hepp and Katherine (Powers) Hepp and had been a lifelong Meriden resident. Alton had been employed by Diversey/Dubois Chemical until his retirement. He was a very active parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church where he was a former president of the Holy Name Society, served as an Extraordinary Eucharistic Minister, usher and lector and participated in many Parish social events. He was also an avid golfer and worked at Lyman Orchards Golf Club for many years after his retirement. He was a Little League coach and loved attending all of his children's and grandchildren's sporting events and activities. He was a great person, so generous with his time and kindness to everyone who crossed his path.
In addition to his wife Alice, he is survived by his four children; Donald Hepp and wife Poppy of Myrtle Beach, SC, Mary Jane Nolan and husband Sean of North Myrtle Beach, SC, Kathy Coleman and husband Vince of Montgomery Village, MD and Christopher Hepp and wife Maria of Glastonbury, CT; nine grandchildren: Jason Hepp and wife Rachel, Donald Hepp, Jr. and wife Dina, Jon Nolan and fiancé Shannon Cook, Jason Nolan and wife Robin, Katrina and Tyler Coleman, Matthew, Christopher and Michael Hepp; six great-grandchildren: Giuliana and Caleb Hepp, Jonathan Nolan and wife Talia, Aidan and Bekah Nolan, Derek Coleman; two great-great grandchildren: Jonathan and Jameson Nolan and many nieces and nephews. Diane was a great source of support and comradery and he looked forward to her visits and Burger King lunches. He is predeceased by his sons Gary and Alton Jr. and siblings Jacqueline Mroczka, William Hepp and Jean Borkowski.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Stanislaus Church (St. Faustina Parish) at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 19, 2022. Interment will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Alton may be made to the Boys and Girls Club of Meriden, 15 Lincoln Street, Meriden, CT 06451.
