Alice B. Zawalich, 84, wife of the late Chester Zawalich Sr., died April 26, 2012 at MidState Medical Center. Born on September 29, 1927 in Caribou, ME, one of 14 children, she was the daughter of the late Mackey and Alice (Vermette) Bouchard. Alice was a resident of Meriden for 20 years and a parishioner of St. Joseph Church. She was employed as a keyboard operator for the Travelers from where she retired after 30 years of service. Alice enjoyed reading and visiting her son Chester in Indiana. She loved family parties and time spent with her family. Mrs. Zawalich is survived by her son Chester Charles Zawalich Jr. of So. Bend, IN; her daughter Maryalice Zawalich of Meriden and two grandsons: Matthew Zawalich and Jason Zawalich both of So. Bend, IN. She was predeceased by her daughter Kathy E. Hershey; 7 brothers: Sam, Maurice, Lou, York, Timmy, Leon and Jake and 6 sisters: Alma, Catherine, Leophille, Tony, Elaine and Irene.
