Obituary

Alexander Wysocki, 88, loving brother, uncle and friend to many, died on Sunday September 28, 2014 at MidState Medical Center. Born on December 7, 1923 he was the son of the late Jan and Helena (Pochron) Wysocki. A lifelong resident of Meriden, Al attended local schools and was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church where he served as an usher. He proudly served in the United States Navy during WWII. Al was on board the USS Missouri (the Mighty MO) on September 2, 1945 when General Richard K. Sutherland accepted the unconditional surrender of Japan by its foreign affairs minister Shigemitsu to end WWII. He was employed as a jeweler for the Napier Company from where he retired after over 30 years of service. Al was a member of the PLAV Post 189, AARP and the Meriden Senior Center. Al is survived by his brother Joseph J. Wysocki of NH, his sister Stacia H. Carta of Meriden and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers and a sister.
