Adolfo Acevedo, 77, died on Wednesday August 26, 2015 at the Meriden Center. Born on September 25, 1937 in Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Carmelo Acevedo and Evanjelita Valentine. Adolfo was a longtime resident of Meriden. He was employed as a power press operator at the International Silver Company and then worked for MidState Medical Center for 10 years. Adolfo is survived by his son Jose Acevedo of Meriden; his daughter Sonia Acevedo and her husband Ruben Miranda of Puerto Rico; four sisters: Patria, Ambaro, Margot and Consuelo Acevedo and four grandchildren: Richard and Amanda Acevedo, Ruben and Paola Miranda. His funeral will be held on Monday August 31st at 9:30 a.m. from the Stempien Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden for a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Rose of Lima Church at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Monday morning from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. at the Stempien Funeral Home.
